OKAY, ALREADY!!

The snow continues to come down. These pictures were made yesterday and shortly after I made them it rained and washed the snow away. This morning it is snowing again. At least we don't live in Washington D. C. where there is about 2 ft. of snow in blizzard conditions.

To answer a question from friend Peggy. Yes, this is unusual. Our area of Virginia usually gets maybe 1 or two small snows a year...and I am talking a dusting up to 3 inches. This year is ridiculous.

Look at the white fluffy snow falling through the air. This is a shot of a house across the street from me.

JANUARY SNOW IN VIRGINIA

Sunday morning and the sun is out making the snow sparkle like glitter...
My flower pot is crowned with snow
Birds are happy to feed just outside my sunroom window. They are such fun to watch.

A red-winged blackbird sitting in the abelia bushes at the edge of the yard... waiting his turn for food.

More birds feeding. Boy, are they hungry this morning.

IT'S SNOWING

The 'infamous' snow storm that has been crossing the country has finally reached Virginia. I just had to capture the activity at the bird feeder this morning.

And... note.... you can see the streaks of snowflakes in the picture.

Elbert and I are going to be great-grandparents!! Remember the wedding I went to last May? Grandson Kenny married Bethany in Camden, S. C. They are going to be parents and that makes me 'great-grand'. Of course, I am already crocheting a blanket and have my quilt patterns laid out for baby quilts. It's going to be a busy spring and summer but such a joyous one. There's nothing in this world more precious than a baby.
